Backstory
Cutting-edge scientists create digital life in Neptune, a virtual world built by data, as human civilization continues to develop. Neptune is the world that carries digital life, and humans can instantiate their data and swim in it.
Nepers evolve and iterate, and recreate the rules of Neptune’s world. Nepers want to take over the world and replace humans. Nepers and humans enter a chaotic situation as scientists struggle to find a solution. More and more brave people join in the adventure, searching for peace, love, and hope as they seek world peace and wealth.
Neptune is an open metaverse world of digital life battles, where DeFi, DAO, and NFT elements make it a truly decentralized game that incorporates the latest trends in the blockchain world. As a play-to-earn game, players can collect and arm Neper, digital creatures, and compete in both versus and adventure modes through summons and constant battles for profit and fun.
Neptune is the world of Nepers, which are NFT characters. Every Neper has unique qualities and different skills to help players on the journey. Anyone can play and earn equitably and fairly in Neptune’s world. The players can participate in DAO governance and decision-making based on contributions.
How it works
You can get Nepers by purchasing or claiming them through Neper shards or eggs from the PVE chests. Shards can be synthesized into eggs, while chests are used to summon Nepers.
All Nepers are categorized into four different elements: Wind, Water, Fire, and Earth. Every Neper in these categories is further assigned to one of the four grades: SSR, SR, R, and N. The Neper’s attribute, skill mastery, and growth will be affected by the grade.
Important things to note:
The ranking order from the lowest is N -> R -> SR -> SSR.
Earth dominates water; water dominates fire; fire dominates wind; wind dominates the earth.
Every time Nepers fight, the winning Neper’s attack power increases by 20%.
How to strengthen your Neper
You need two Nepers and 100 $NEP (game token).
Specify which of the two is the main Neper and secondary Neper.
The main Neper will consume the secondary Neper, and the 100 $NEP will also be utilized.
These rules follow that:
N card can only eat N card;
R card can eat N, R card;
SR cards can eat N, R, SR cards;
SSR cards can eat N, R, SR, SSR cards;
Neper And Gameplay
There are two battle modes in Neptune: Adventure (PVE) and Arena (PVP)
Adventure Mode
These are turn-based battles where players send 1~5 Nepers to fight against 1~5 Monsters. The Nepers will fight in turns according to speed, but if the HP of a Neper falls below 0, it dies. You will only become victorious after you have defeated all the Monsters. If all your Nepers in the battle are defeated, you lose.
Energy Points:
Every PVE battle will deduct one energy point regardless of the outcome.
You will recover 20 energy points every day at 4 pm UTC.
20 is the maximum amount of energy points you can have.
There are 10 main levels, where every 1 main level has 10 sublevels, meaning that there are 100 levels in total.
Victories are rewarded with NFT boxes, which can be an upgrade card, token, exp, and runestone fragments. This game mode has five different types of boxes (diamond, gold, silver, copper, and wood), and they are dropped based on the level’s difficulty.
Arena Mode
Analyze the rules, select a player, and then win against the defensive formation set by that player to replace his rankings. You can also set your own defensive formation, and when other players challenge you, they will play against it.
In this mode, a chance to trigger its skill is activated every time a Neper attacks. However, the Neper will use its regular attack if no skills are triggered. 20 rounds is the maximum battle duration, and if there is a draw after these 20 rounds, the challenger fails, while the winner proceeds to the next level.
Rules:
There are a maximum of 10 challenges per day; the limit refreshes daily at 4 pm UTC.
Expect 1–5 $NEP rewards for each victory.
A season is 7 days, and the top 300 players get $NEP rewards.
Runestone Synthesis
Nepers wear pedants known as Runestones. These Runestones can either be worn or removed. There are four different types of Runestones based on their attributes:
Power Rune — Attack
Skill Rune — Dodge
Heart Rune — Critical Attack
Life Rune — HP
A Neper can wear four Runestones, one of each type. Whenever you trade a Neper on the marketplace, the system automatically removes the Runestone it is wearing and returns them to the backpack. Runestones cannot be obtained directly, only through shard synthesis. You need 1 magical crystal plus 10 pieces of each of the 4 different runestones to synthesize a new runestone.
Level Up
You can automatically level up by opening chests and gaining EXP (experience points) even before your Neper reaches Level 10. Before upgrading to Level 11 after reaching Level 10, you must:
Meet the experience points needed.
Have an upgrade card plus 50 $NEP for each pet.
Every level 10 is a threshold where you need to upgrade manually to move to the next level.
You need 1,000 egg fragments to synthesize a new egg.
Tokenomics
NEP token is the governance token on Neptune. There will be a maximum of 10 million tokens. The primary purpose of this token is to allow players to become the owners of the Neptune platform. Players that contribute more to the platform are eligible for more NEP tokens. Neptune’s cooperation with Netswap adds a DeFi function to the gaming experience.
$NEP Token Holder Entitlements
Voting governance rights
Benefit from the development of Neptune Metaverse
Internally test the games launched on Neptune
Access to IDOs and NFT airdrops for newly created games on Neptune
Game developers who launch games on Neptune will add in-game tokens to $NEP’s staking pool and benefit NEP holders
The $NEP/$METIS LP staking pool is available for NEP holders, and those who stake get dual-coin mining rewards of NET and NEP
Wrapping up
Play-to-earn gaming has been a hot trend for the last two years. Neptune’s competitive advantage is its launch on Metis Andromeda network, an Ethereum L2 that is very fast and has very low transaction fees. Neptune has also partnered with Metis and Netswap to increase the players’ chances of earning.
