The number of unique active wallets in the blockchain gaming industry increased by 8% (912K) month-over-month, ensuring its share of Web3 remains over 48% in Q3.

In October, the number of daily unique active wallets reached 329,529, representing an 8.85% increase over September. The gaming dApp increased its dUAW by 4.48% in November to 344,284 wallets.

Despite much of this gaming still taking place in a 2D world, there is a high interest in blockchain gaming. Interestingly, card-based NFT games like Alien Worlds and Splinterlands have maintained their leading position at the highest dApp rankings.

Sandbox has partnered with major brands, including Warner Music Group, Ubisoft, The Rabbids, Gucci Vault, The Walking Dead, Snoop Dogg, Adidas, Deadmau5, and Steve Aoki.

Gamers can shop for NFT items of major brands like Adidas and Gucci since both own land in the Sandbox. These brands will freely commingle in games with The Smurfs, Care Bears, and dozens of other leading IPs in this 3D voxel-based world.

As we already see in The Sandbox, the 3D assets gamers earn and buy in games will increasingly have utility in other sectors of the metaverse. We cannot say the same for 2D cards. In traditional 3D gaming, gamers are enticed by the immersion and hyperrealism of 3D graphics.

Legends Of Elumia

Legends Of Elumia is a next-generation, NFT-based MMORPG where players can socialize with others in the city of Elumia.

Elumia is set in an online fantasy world where players team up with friends and join guilds to defeat bosses and complete dungeons, gaining new items and equipment, leveling up, socializing and battling each other in fierce online duels.

Players use their own NFT characters to access the game, with each character being completely unique with distinct appearance, attributes and abilities. In-game items are gained by completing dungeons, defeating enemies, or purchasing them from a marketplace. Items vary in rarity, and players can upgrade their items while playing.

As the game evolves, ongoing NFT game assets are planned to release, including new character classes, mounts, pets, loot boxes, buildings, and land. In addition, players can mint their own NFT’s using items they discover in game, giving true and full ownership of in-game assets.

Technology

The Legends of Elumia team used C# to create the game client, combined with the latest Unity engine. They chose Unity because its graphics allow them to create visual effects with minimal computation overhead, and allows easier support for new platforms in future. The server has been battle tested over years to be secure and dependable, resulting in high stability.

The Unity engine has been extensively used by the team in previous projects, ensuring high polish and performance for this gameplay style. This gives developers a dynamic workflow and allows in-game visuals to scale quickly.

Solana

Legends of Elumia was built on Solana due to its performance, and even in 2022, there were several well-known issues with this blockchain, including ten partial or full outages and slow block times. However, Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko believes that recent updates will help the blockchain resolve its reliability issues.

Despite some issues with Solana, Solana remains one of the fastest, most cost-effective, and censorship-resistant blockchains. It is capable of processing over 50k transactions per second while keeping its users safe.

Also, because Solana allows users to transfer NFTs for almost no cost, it makes sense for the entire Legends of Elumia ecosystem.

Solana’s ecosystem and the social web3 layer have the potential to be at the forefront of the P2E sector despite the trade-offs.

With all of these tools baked into the underlying Elumia system, newcomers and experienced crypto enthusiasts and investors should be able to blend into a vibrant, active user community.

The Gameplay

Elumia is a thriving metropolis centered around The Infinite Tower with an ancient structure. Elumia is a city where players can interact with one another, trade, duel, shop, and accept new quests and activities. The Infinity Tower portal is where players enter to begin their quest. These portals transport users to open areas and dungeons which they can battle through and complete to gain their rewards.

Player characters gain experience and level up as they defeat enemies in the dungeons, and can also gain loot and discover new items and equipment. Another way to obtain resources is to engage in duels with other players in the city’s main square. These in-game incentives will continue to entice players to return to the ecosystem. Players can use resources to level up their character, create new items, or improve their current ones.

A character is an NFT because these characters have many different appearances, and no two players will look the same. Each in-game character has stats and abilities that influence how you can play them. Because different players contribute different things to the team, this allows for more social interaction and team play.

Tokenomics

Legends of Elumia is one of the few games that use two native utility tokens — $ELU and $EKS.

Elumia Crowns - $ELU

$ELU is Elumia's governance and staking token. Holders of $ELU will be allowed to participate in DAO governance and stake their tokens in events such as NFT characters mints. $ELU could also be used for future game related activities such as character or item upgrades.

Elumia Crystals - $EKS

$EKS is Elumia's in-game currency token. Players gain these tokens by participating in various activities within the game environment such as completing dungeons and defeating enemies. These tokens are the recognized medium of exchange within Elumia city and can be spent during in-game activities.

The core team of Elumia consists of CEO Richard, an expert in the game industry, especially with a background of 21 years in the game industry as a programmer, project manager, and CEO.

The COO, Simon, has 14 years of executive management and operational expertise in the technology industry. Some of his specialties that stood out are product creation, marketing, and business strategy.

Alex, CCO, has five years of game experience, including lead art positions on Dungeon Hunter, Asphalt, and Modern Combat.
